Gemstone Faceting and Cabbing Services

For those of you who have a collection of rough gemstones, and would like to turn some of them into finished gems, we offer an economical, high quality commercial gem cutting service. We use professonal, highly trained gemcutters who work to the highest precision standards. These cutters work in Sri Lanka, an island nation in southeast Asia. We have used their services for several years, and have always received excellent quality and service. We can now proudly offer that same outstanding gem finishing service to you, our valued customer.

Our service provides the best balance of quality, convenience, price, and service available. Each stone is precisely cut and polished to the correct optical angles for the material, yielding the greatest possible beauty and value for each finished gem. You can use domestic mail to ship your rough stones to us, and we use economical domestic mail service to ship your finished stones back to you. We handle all the complications of international shipping and customs for you. Our gemcutters work quickly, efficiently and precisely to convert your rough stones into finished gems at minimal cost.

Even though the actual cutting and polishing is done in Sri Lanka, you are dealing with an American company. You can send your rough stones to us by domestic mail, and we assume all responsibility for international shipping, customs forms, and import and export legalities. As part of our service, we keep you informed of the progress of your order at every step of the way.

There are basically four different grades of faceting service available: Artists, Precision Commercial, Commercial, and Native. Gems Evermore offers a Precision Commercial service.
Our gemstone faceting and cabochon cutting service is not for everyone. It is best for those who have a fairly large number of stones to cut into good quality, relatively inexpensive gems.
The size of a gem that can be cut from a rough stone depends on the quality of the rough and the desired quality of the gem. Typically, good rough will yield a gem that weighs about 1/5 to 1/4 the weight of the original stone.
There is a $125 shipping and handling charge for each parcel of gems sent to Sri Lanka. At first glance this seems rather high, so we thought you might like to know where all that money goes.
